So, you want to learn watercolor painting? Well, in a world filled with plenty of ugliness, this is one thing that is a world of beauty at your fingertips. Watercolor painting is really not that hard. With a few tips and a little bit of imagination, you can become pretty decent at this without having to give up your first born in the process.

Let’s start with the grip. The basic grip for holding a watercolor paint brush is almost identical to the way you would hold a pen or pencil for writing. However, by simply adjusting the grip slightly, you can come up with some very interesting results. But starting with the conventional grip, since it’s similar to the handwriting grip, try writing your name. You can either print it or use script.

Okay, let’s now use a different grip. Try picking up the brush as if you are pinching it between your index finger and thumb. You can alternate between a tight pinch and a loose one. Then, take the brush, using each grip, and move it around the canvas. Notice the difference between the brush strokes using this grip and the standard grip. Notice the strokes are much fatter and with the looser grip, more free and less controlled.

Let’s try one more grip in this article called the screwdriver grip. Yes, you’re going to hold the brush as if it were a screwdriver and you were going to use it to screw something into a piece of wood. It’s a little awkward at first, but eventually, you’ll get used to it. Because there is a very limited range of control with this grip, it forces you to draw very simply. This is a great technique to use for sketching.

There are other grips that you can use but we’ll stop there. Yes, just by changing the way you hold your brush, you can get a variety of textures and effects on your canvas. For more great tips and a great resource in watercolor painting, check out the link in my signature.

This is the last of my three part series on tips for Dubai tourism. So far I’ve covered everything from what you can bring with you to how to get there to what you can do once you’ve arrived…not to mention how easy it is to get around. In this article, we’ll touch on a few final things that I am sure you are going to want to know.

On thing we didn’t touch on in the first two articles is how to pay for stuff. Yes, you need money here. Good news on this front. There are many local and international banks in Dubai that offer the standard commercial banking services. Banking hours are a little odd though if you’re used to US banking. Banks are open from 8 AM to 1 PM Saturday to Wednesday. On Thursdays, they’re open from 8 until noon and that’s it. Hope you’re an early riser.

Business hours in Dubai are nothing like in the US. So if you’re planning on doing any business there at all, you need to know this. The Dubai weekend, traditionally, is Thursday afternoon and Friday. However, some places now close on Friday and Saturday. Office hours in the private sector are all over the map. Some places are open from 8 to noon, reopen at 1 until 3 or 4 and others are straight 9 to 5. Some shops stay open until 10 PM at night, so if you’re a late night shopper, these will do just fine.

As for credit cards (who doesn’t have one?) most of the common ones are accepted including American Express, Diners Club, Visa and Mastercard. These cards are taken by most of the larger shops in the area, though you may have a problem using them in the smaller establishments. So it’s good to have some cash on you. The monetary unit in Dubai is the dirham. The exchange rate, at this point in time is one US dollar for Dh3.67.

Tipping in Dubai is pretty standard and actually less than the going rate in the US which, in many places is up to 20%. In Dubai, a 10% tip is considered acceptable. If you want to be a big spender, you can up it to 15% but it’s not required or expected. Here’s a tip. When treated to excellent service, tip accordingly. You’ll feel a lot better about yourself.

Naturally, these three articles just scratch the surface. For a complete tourist guide that will give you everything you could possibly want, check out the resource in my signature.

I covered a few things that you probably would like to know about Dubai before planning a trip to the area in a previous article. In fact, I really just scratched the surface. So in this article, I’m going to give you some more great tips for your travel so that your experience in Dubai is as pleasant as possible. Keep reading to find out more.

Let’s begin with language concerns. A lot of people worry about going to a foreign land because they don’t speak the language and wonder if they can communicate with local people. Well, this should put your mind at ease. While the official language is Arabic, English is widely spoken and understood by most of the people there. So you should have very little trouble communicating there. Bring an Arabic/English dictionary with you just to be on the safe side.

I know a lot of people like to drink, so let’s get this issue out of the way so that you don’t get into any sort of trouble. You can get alcohol in any hotel club, restaurant or bar. However, restaurants outside the hotel are NOT allowed to serve alcoholic beverages nor are you allowed to bring any inside. These laws are STRICTLY enforced, so you should keep this in your mind.

Photographs are a big thing with tourists. Who doesn’t bring a camera with them when they go and visit a foreign land? Well, here’s what you need to know about taking pictures. It is normal and acceptable to take common tourist photos of the area with these exceptions. But it is considered offensive to photograph Muslim women. Don’t do it. Also, if you’re going to photograph men from the area, ask permission first. Photographs of government buildings and military installations are a big no-no.

What about getting around in the area? This is no problem. You have a choice of a number of transportation modes including taxis, car rentals and even water taxis. This is a great way to travel between Dubai and Deira. Water taxis will take you right across the creek from one place to the other. There are also fully air conditioned water buses.

In the last article in this series, I’ll go over some more great tips. In the meantime, check out the resource below for all your Dubai tourism needs.

If you’re reading this review, you’re probably in the middle of a huge child custody battle. My heart goes out to you. I know how tough that can be. The product I’m reviewing will help you best prepare for that battle and hopefully give you the best chance of winning.

The product, Custody Strategies is very specialized, so much so that it has information relative to whether you are the mother or father of the child. Yes, depending on who you are, there are different strategies. This is something that most people don’t know that the product makes very clear.

The book is written by two people who have over 30 years experience with child custody, Dr. Barry Bricklin and Dr. Gail Elliot.

Dr. Bricklin is a psychologist in private practice. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Widener University and has previously served on the faculty of Jefferson University and of Hahnneman University. He has served as a consultant in psychology to the Walter Reed Army Hospital Research Center, to the United States Army, to the New York Academy of Medicine, and to the Columbia Broadcasting System.

Dr. Elliot is Head, Child Development and Family Processes Research, Bricklin Associates, the Vice Chair of the Professional Academy of Custody Evaluators and a psychologist in private practice. She has served as a consultant to public and private schools and coordinated multidisciplinary treatment plans. She was responsible for devising for Bricklin Associates an information-processing oriented educational therapy technique and a comprehensive college entrance service for children with serious motivational problems and low self-esteem problems.

I’m telling you this so that you understand that these people are professionals in this matter and not quacks.

The book has 15 hard hitting chapters in it, starting with the role of bias in these cases. It then goes into the most frequently made errors, 14 key strategies, all outlined in detail, false assumptions, strategies that can be used against you (very important) what your lawyer should do for you, how to get your lawyer to work harder for you, the bribed or manipulated child, physical disability, how to control costs, the best approach to use, costs involved, how to make sure a custody evaluator has the proper expertise to carry out an evaluation, what to do if you believe an evaluation has been biased and a summary.

In short, these two doctors have left nothing out. I think you will find this book to be quite thorough.

And that one book is just a fraction of what you get. I won’t go into the rest of it because there is just too much to go over. Essentially, you get a whole child custody package that will provide you with everything you will need.

At the very least, go to their site and see what they have to offer. After all, the custody of your child is at risk here and you do want to make sure that you’ve done everything possible to give yourself the best chance to win this battle.

If you ask the common people on the street where Dubai is and have them find it on a map, you’ll probably have them scratching their head and looking for the way out of here. Either that, or searching for a chart of our solar system. And yet, Dubai tourism is BIG. And if you’re thinking of going there, you might want to read this article first. It contains a few useful tips for tourists that will definitely make your stay more enjoyable.

For starters, and I know this isn’t a glamorous subject, but it is important that you are aware of certain medicines that are NOT permitted to be taken into Dubai. And I’m not talking about just a few. A PDF that is supplied by the Ministry Of Health Drug Control Department is 49 pages long with over 200 controlled substances that are not allowed in Dubai. It is important that you carefully go through this document BEFORE planning your trip.

As for the weather, you can’t find a better place in th world. The climate of Dubai is sub-tropical. Most of the year you will find nothing but clear blue skies and lots of sun light. There is very little rain throughout the year as well. Temperatures can get a little on the hot side however, peaking around 118 degrees. The good news is that it rarely drops below 50 degrees. So don’t even think about packing any clothes more than a light jacket.

If you’re worried about what airline is going to get you to Dubai, get it out of your mind. There are over 80 airlines that fly directly into the area. Major cities such as London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong are only six to eight hours away. So we’re not talking about a very long flight, relatively speaking that is. And if you are handicapped or have any kind of physical disability at all, Dubai airport is equipped to handle all your needs.

There is a lot more to cover, which I’ll be doing in a followup article. In the meantime, if you really want to know how to get the most out of your Dubai experience, check out the resource in my signature. It will provide you with everything that you need so that your trip to Dubai is the best that it possibly can be.

If you are reading this review, I will assume that you want to learn how to do watercolor painting. I am going to cover everything that you will learn from the author of this book so that you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you think it is right for you.

The author goes into explicit detail, from start to finish, on how to paint using watercolor.

The book is broken down into sections, which makes it very easy, not only to follow, but to go to the section you’re most interested in if you’re not exactly a beginner but just want to get to advanced material.

We start with a section on materials. What to use and why you’re using it, plus what the best materials are to get.

Section 2 is on the palette…how to organize it, and how to avoid the biggest mistakes that beginners make with their palettes. This is more important than you probably realize.

Section 3 goes over composition, how to create a horizon line, center of interest and using abstractions. Still all basic stuff.

Section 4 goes over creating figures, which is probably one of the hardest things to do. This section is very well written.

Section 5 gets into color, how to divide pigments for best results, determining the emotional impact of color, using color to suggest movement and the correct way to add reflections. This is where the book starts to go just a bit beyond basics.

Section 6 goes into special effects…and there are lots of them. This is one of the more fun parts of the book if you’re into that stuff.

Section 7 shows you how to paint trees. It’s not as hard as you think once you’re shown how.

Section 8 goes into landscapes and how to work from a pencil sketch.

Section 9 shows you how to paint the perfect window. This is REALLY cool.

Section 10 shows you how to achieve different textures such as the texture of old wood. This is very well explained.

Section 11 goes into how to create edges, realistic pictures and how to avoid that “pasted in” look.

Section 12 covers painting interiors and how to choose an interesting subject. It also goes into abstraction.

Section 13 shows you how to paint street scenes. This is probably one of the most detailed parts of the book.

Section 14 goes over the use of forms and shapes. This is more abstract than anything else. So if you’re not into abstract art, this section probably won’t be of much interest to you.

Section 15 is very cool. It goes over painting seascapes, breaking surf, how to make whitecap waves, and how to create a beach scene. If you want to really impress people, master these techniques and you will.

Section 16 is titled Planning and Selection. It is a complete step by step demonstration of how to work from a photograph to a finished watercolor. This absolutely had to finish the book. It’s brilliant.

As you can see, the book is pretty complete. Plus he gives you a bonus book on how to paint faces. Quite honestly, it’s a great value. At the very least, please visit her site and see what she has to offer.

If you are reading this, you’re probably interested in visiting Dubai and want to get the best tourist information available so that you can have the best trip and stay possible. What follows is an unbiased review of All Things Dubai. I’ll let you know exactly what you’ll be getting so you can then make an informed decision.

The author answers a lot of common questions that people usually have about Dubai including:

Where is Dubai, United Arab Emirates?

How does UAE compare to other Arab and/or Islamic nations?

Is there a dress code in Dubai?

What are the sports and entertainment facilities?

How about United Arab Emirates culture people and society?

What is the nightlife scene?

Is life safe for a Dubai tourist?

But this book goes way beyond just answering simple questions. He goes into more detail for people who might be interested in actually living there and answering many of these questions:

Am I going to be financially better off in Dubai?

What are full expat packages?

May I do two jobs?

What is a free zone?

What are the standard terms of employment and contract?

What is contained in the UAE labor contract?

Where is Dubai in terms of UAE’s stance on Nationalization?

Are jobs transferable?

What is the business culture in UAE?

How can one find an office in Dubai if they provide only a P. O. Box number?

How do I get to recruitment Dubai resources?

What are the career opportunities UAE presents?

What rewards and benefits can aspirants for Dubai find in jobs?

How do I access employment agencies Dubai has approved?

Is the current scenario good for IT jobs in UAE , Dubai engineering jobs, accounting jobs in the United Arab Emirates, finance manager jobs in Dubai or as an English teacher Dubai Abu Dhabi?

What about jobs for women in UAE?

He then covers a lot of odds and ends such as:

Are there international schools in Dubai?

Are there internationally affiliated colleges in UAE?

Are there parks for dogs to run about in?

How do I organize a desert dune dinner in Dubai UAE?

What is the real scene of tourism Dubai?

Is it true that electronic items are cheaper in United Arab Emirates?

Is my driving license transferable?

What items are banned in UAE? Is this for tourist Dubai or for residents?

Where is Dubai and can I travel with a one-way ticket or do I need a return ticket?

Can I buy freehold property or only leasehold?

Where can I find a Dubai guide?

Is there an official source for Dubai tourist information?

He also includes several USEFUL bonuses, unlike the many products that just throw any old garbage at you.

One of them is a tips guide that can save you hundreds of dollars on your visit. These tips alone are probably worth the price of the book.

And there is more…lots more. I’d be here forever going into detail. So instead of my boring the heck out of you, why not just go to his site and see what he’s offering. If you’re really interested in visiting or even relocating to Dubai, this information is going to be invaluable.

Okay, this isn’t going to take long at all. I can’t reveal the actual secrets of this book for obvious reasons as if I did, you wouldn’t have to get it. So here is what I can tell you about it and how it works.

It works by exposing loopholes in the legal system, especially when it comes to things like the different types of radar that are used to tell if somebody is speeding or not. Yes, there are bugs in these things that legally, you can get around under many, if not all, circumstances.

The book also goes over things to prepare before you go to court. Make sure you bring these things with you. Yes, they are THAT important. Sorry, can’t say more than that here.

There are also some sneaky little tricks in his book like how to make it so that your ticketing officer can’t make it to court. No, it’s not illegal and you’re not going to bump him off or anything like that, but it is very sneaky and it works.

I will go on record right now as saying that I don’t like a lot of the things that this book teaches, especially since these tactics will get you out of your ticket even if you’re 100% dead guilty. But my approval doesn’t matter. If you want to get out of your ticket, sadly, this book is almost fool proof.

Against my better judgment as an honest citizen, I’m going to give you the link to their site so you can see all the other sneaky tricks that they’re going to show you.
